I have several items listed on e-bay this week.  I will be moving soon and changing jobs, starting my career as a teacher.  Unfortunately I won't be getting a pay check for a few months and I'm going to be cutting it close making ends meet... so I'm selling a few things on e-bay, and if anyone is interested in anything from my gallery and offers me the right deal I'm willing to part with other pieces too....

One popular item I hope will sell will be zee captain, snippy and engie figures based on romantically apocalyptic's web comic:
www.ebay.com/itm/Romantically-…

and I am hoping to sell my topless slave leia...  find her and several other great customs in my store here:
www.ebay.com/usr/custom_scound…
I have no idea who still follows this page, as I've moved most of my posting to my facebook page as it's easier to update and connect with people.  Especially since most of what I do is through my cell phone now and DA isn't very compatible...

anyway.  I have fallen on hard times this month and will be needing some extra cash to get me out of a huge bind... that means I'm offering practically everything in my collection up for sale.  Bear in mind there are a few things I won't, or can't sell, but for most of it, if the offer is good enough, I will consider it.

So, if you don't have facebook message me here on DA if you are interested in anything in my galleries.
Or e-mail me at devincherry@hotmail.com

but I would prefer you jump over to my facebook page and look at my galleries there, where I have outlined asking prices for a large set of my figures from every genre and am conducting most of my business:

thanks to anyone who is still following this page, and I hope you take an interest in my work and make me an offer so that you can enjoy it in your own collection... my misfortune is your treasure!
So previous journal talks about how I am now home, and jobless...

With that being said, I have a little bit of time on my hands...  Time to take commissions, and try to make a little money off my hobby.  I will be listing some things on e-bay within the next few weeks, but if you have a pay-pal account, you like my work, and would like to work out a commission project shoot me a private message here and let me know what you have in mind.  If I have all the parts I think I need we can work out a cool deal, or if I need to get parts from e-bay we can work that out as well.

This is my idea for how this works:
If you have an idea, tell me it.  I will formulate what I might need for the project.

If I have created what you want in the past then I'll know exactly what I need.

If it's an item I've already made and you'd like to purchase it outright, we might be able to make a deal.

If I have the parts and can make a duplicate figure, I can work out a deal.

If I need to get parts from e-bay, I will tell you what I think I need, I will have you purchase them and then mail them to me, and then the only cost you have to pay me is the "labor" cost of my work building the figure to cover any paint, or other parts I use.

So... get those commission requests coming in!
jiggity jig...

So I'm back home from being in Wyoming all summer, and even though I took all my hobby supplies I was incredibly busy this summer and only made a few of the hundreds of ideas I wanted to complete this summer.  But now I am unemployed! So I have plenty of time...

so expect to start seeing some custom action figures being posted, more and more as the next few weeks progress.

I've also got tons of fossils to work on, prepare, and display.  Some fossil based jewelry to work on, as well as many other project ideas.  All using fossils from areas of wyoming, utah, and colorado where I was hanging out this summer.  Including fossil fish from the green river formation in wyoming, trilobites from the house range wheeler formation of utah, crinoid stems from jurrasic aged limestone in wyoming, eocene age petrified wood from wyoming, and many other cool things!

But... most of my focus atm will be on finding a job, any job, trying to get my life back in order now that I am home...
I've once again been offered a great opportunity to chase my dream job!  I'll be headed to the great state of Wyoming to work for the National Park Service for 5 months this summer.

I'll be a boni-fied park ranger for Fossil Butte National Monument (for more on FOBU check out their NPS page: www.nps.gov/fobu/index.htm )!  I'll be leading guided hikes and tours of a truly unique paleontological resource.  FOBU showcases some of THE BEST fossilized examples of Eocene aged (52 Million years old!) freshwater organisms and their environment.

FOBU has a small visitor's center near Kemmerer, Wyoming that is packed full of beautiful fossils.  Swing by if your interested and I'll tell you all about it!

As for my other hobbies...

I'm packing up all my customizing supplies, fodder bins, figures, tools, and paints... but I don't expect to really get to do a whole lot of customizing.  I'll meet up with a few fellow customizers for one weekend though so I know I'll do a little!

I also won't have internet access where I'm staying, but I will have it at the library in town... so about once a week or so I'll log on to check messages and do what I can.

But, like I said, I won't be doing a lot of customs, so don't expect much out of me...  If your interested in my work though, feel free to send me a message or comment on my deviations and I'll get back to as many comments as I can!

Thanks for all my followers and fan's that make this hobby so rewarding, but I'm glad one of my other hobbies has turned into a rewarding job (and hopefully a career!)

Here is a set of links to video tutorials that I uploaded to face-book.  Even without a FB account you should be able to view these, let me know if there is an issue and I'll try to find time to upload them to my youtube account.

I will post links as I upload new ones on here for folks who don't use facebook, if this is working at least...  Let me know if those links work!

and of course, if you do use facebook, then go on and LIKE my page and you can see updates there!

In an attempt to TRY and organize my gallery I've divided my work into several categories... Hopefully this will make things a little easier to manage for people who are just now browsing through my work.  WOW... There was over 80something pages of Deviations in there to organize...  A lot of stuff I deleted, a lot I didn't even remember putting up!  lol

anyways...  If this gallery ever gets unorganized again, or if you still don't like browsing it here, my FaceBook page is A LOT better maintained (as I just started it and can keep better care of how upload photo sets)...  So go check it out, like it, and watch for updates there!

www.facebook.com/pages/SpudaFe…

I also have video tutorials being put up on Facebook, so if you have a question about how I constructed a figure, or how I performed a certain technique, check out the videos.  If that still doesn't answer the question, and I think it will make a good tutorial, let me know and I'll record and upload a tutorial on how to do it!

Thanks!
I am horrible about thanking people individually for watches and favorites, so here is a BIG THANK YOU for everyone who has taken time to look at my work.  I appreciate all the favorites I've been getting lately, as well as the comments too!

If you like my work here, check out my facebook page:
www.facebook.com/pages/SpudaFe…
There, you will find real time updates on current projects, step by step video tutorials, as well as a much more organized photo gallery of my custom works (albeit the stuff posted there is all very recent work and won't include a lot of my early work that is posted in my DA gallery).

Thanks again everyone!
Finally got around to making a page on facebook, LIKE IT!

www.facebook.com/pages/SpudaFe…

I'll still be uploading the majority of my work here, but you can like the page and keep an eye out for unique content that I won't be uploading here.  I'll also be listing items on e-bay and providing links through the face-book page.

Check it out, and if you know anyone who has an interest in custom action figures send them an invite!
It just occured to me that I've never supplied a link to my youtube videos on here before.  I have several tutorials for my customs that I've made on youtube and I highly recomend watching them if you are interested in customizing action figures.

I believe I have 3 tutorials up right now that will interest the people here, the rest of the videos are of other stuff not pertaining to customs...

check it out:

ya know... I find it hilarious that my slave ahsoka figures have been the most fav'ed of all my custom figures I've posted here.  They seem to have been the ones stepped in the most controversy on other sites and yet on deviantart they are the figures I get the most responses from...

it's also worth noting that they are the figures that made me the most cash of the few I sold... perhaps I should go back and do a few more?  what do you guys think?  should I revisit that figure? Should I keep doing Iron Man figures (which seem to have NO interest on e-bay at all)... should I even care?  does anyone even read this?...
hm... sorry, I've not slept in 24 hours so I'm rambling.
I've got two customs up for auction this week on e-bay.  PLEASE go check them out.

they are both posted in my gallery too so if you've been keeping up with my work you'll already have seen them... but I'm hoping someone who actualy reads this (does anyone?) will check it out and be interested in them enough to purchase something! lol

The first one I have up is the blue LED "power glow" mark 6 iron man figure.
cgi.ebay.com/CUSTOM-power-glow…

the second one is my "ultimate" movie War-Machine set.  It basically is a stock figure but includes a bunch of customized and cast resin duplicate weaponry to mix and match with.
cgi.ebay.com/Iron-Man-ultimate…

check them out, tell me what you think of the auction, bid! bid! bid!!!! lol
ok... wtf... I did not change my avatar, I'm kind of agrivated that it is a fraking rediculous twilight animated pos.  wtf is going on? is someone hacking accounts and changing this shit? i noticed that several peoples avatars have been changed to twilight BS images that I KNOW they wouldn't put up there! wtf?!

I hated the movie, and I in no way am supporting this, give me back my avatar deviantart!
Howdy everyone,

That is, if anyone even reads these...

anyway, if you are reading this then chances are you might be interested in my work.  And if that is the case I'm taking commission requests!

And by taking comission requests I'm more or less requesting you to commission something...  Even if your not interested in purchasing a figure I would love to hear some realy good ideas (or realy bad, but original) for custom figures.

Take a look at my work if you havn't already, take a second to ponder what I've done, and then suggest something that I havn't done and might be up my alley.

Anything Mando will be well recieved! Or clone, or anything else star wars or gi-joe even...

Now... I would love to have some people actually commission me to do them a figure and then them buy it from me (or at least cover the cost of making it!).... but at this point good ideas are just as welcome! (I'm running out of ideas, I think the number of images of custom figures I've uploaded to my gallery reached over 1000 last month....!)

so... give me some ideas guys (and gals)!
Hey guys, I've got some of my customs listed on e-bay right now!

I realy need the money to pay off debts from college (mostly to my parents, having to live with them still they are constantly on my back about paying them back!)... so help me out! If your not interested in the figures and auctions that I have up maybe someone you know might be, send the link to someone who might be interested and ask them to do the same!

PLEASE! (I'm on my knees, begging...)

shop.ebay.com/custom_scoundrel…

I've got some of my favorite speeder bikes up there right now and expect for more great vehicles and figures to be listed throughout the week...
ALSO, if you would like to browse through my gallery here on deviantart and find anything that you might like to have shoot me a message and give me an offer!  If it's something that hasn't already been sold or is listed right now I'll probably consider it!  (there are just a few things that I want to keep for myself, but I might consider making another just for you on commission if you cover the costs pluss just a little!)

thanks everyone!
Well everyone, in two weeks I'll graduate and because I'm a student worker right now, I'll also be out of a job...  So it's time for me to put some stuff up on e-bay for and try and get some extra cash to hold me over untill I get a "Real" job...

Question is, I don't realy know which figures/customs to put out there for sale.  I've had some bad luck so far with selling some of these.

If anyone sees anything they like in my gallery let me know, make an offer, I might just sell it...  there are a few I just don't want to get rid of but alot of them I just don't care about.  Let me know if you see something you realy like, if I've already sold it I might commision one for you!

I'll post a link up to my e-bay account this weekend when I've decided on what I'm going to get rid of too.

thanks everyone,
-Devin
Well, I had my back operated on this morning.

So far so good.

For those of you who didn't know about 2 months ago I ruptured a disk in my lower back.  Turned out it was between L4-L5, the last two vertebrae in the spine.

I had tried to let it heal on it's own but that just didn't happen.  I was having alot of pain in my leg and foot from the nerve being pinched by the ruptured disk material pressing against it.  It got realy unbearable.  So I scheduled surgery.

It was outpatient, so I went in this morning for a 10:30 appt.  Of course they didn't get to me untill almost noon... but once I went under the anesthesia I was in and out of surgery in 2 hours (felt like 2 minutes for me!)  Never felt any part of it...  I can only imagine what happened during surgery.

I feel pretty good now.  The incision in my back hurts like a bad bruise and I've got to keep from lifting anything or bending much so as to not tear the stitches but other than that I can already feel an improvement!

Before i couldn't even cough without my back and leg giving me excruciating pains... Now I can do just about everything. I am still walking slowly and am very stiff still just from the soreness of the surgery itself though I hope.

Hopefully I'll be back to work on my projects and posting more stuff by tomorrow!  I took the week off of school so I should have some time to get some interesting stuff worked on!
Got some videos up on my new youtube account, same handle as here, "spudafett".  You can get to them by searching "spudafett" in youtube or click on this video's link and look at the "more from spudafett" drop down menue.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA1DYX…

check it out and leave some comments, Tell me how psychotic my kids are! lol
Those of you who frequent my pages here and have added me to your watch list, I need your input on something.

The last slave ahsoka figure I put up.  Is it offensive to you?  should I remove it?  What were your initial thoughts on the figure when you first saw it?

I have since put this fiugre up on e-bay and have since caught alot of harsh words about it... unfourtunately most people who have a problem with it have decided it was better to flame me on other forums where I was not a member instead of voicing their concerns and feelings to me personally.

What I want to know is if this figure is offensive and what I could do to make ammends for this offense?

thanks
Many of my most recent customs are being posted on e-bay.  My username there is "custom_scoundrels"  I have already sold two super articulated boba fett customs as well as my stealth recon boba fett.  My Han solo, Lando, kashyyyk trooper and many many more to come are still up for grabs and will be listed soon.  Keep an eye out for these one of a kind custom star wars collectibles!

thanks!
